Installing Solar Hot Water Systems

Burnsview, Delta and Seaquam are the three secondary schools that will be harnessing free clean renewable solar energy to pre-heat their domestic hot water supply (water for lavatories, showers, dishwashers and clothes washers).  This system will reduce the District’s energy consumption, resulting in over $5,000 of natural gas savings, and 12 tonnes of greenhouse gas emission reductions annually.  Funding assistance is provided by SolarBC.

We have applications to the provincial PSECA (Public Sector Energy Conservation Agreement) Program for funding to install systems at Sands, North Delta and Delview Secondary Schools, which are pending approval.
